Josh's Weekly Insights - Thanksgiving Edition -

“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.”

-William Arthur Ward

When this time of year comes around, it is a great reminder to think about your purpose in life. I have worked with a lot of people to help them figure out what their purpose is, and I can confidently say the people who figure it out have one common thread. It always involves other people. One of the basic principles of life is that we need other people to make it fulfilling.

With that being said, let me share thanks for some of the people I love:

-My parents for teaching me that attitude and effort will beat skill every time. There will be many times in life where you are trying something new. In those moments, do so with great effort and a positive attitude until you develop stronger skills.

-Christie Drexler for giving me grace and an opportunity serve others in a meaningful way. For walking the talk and practicing what she values every single day. Working for a leader like her is a blessing! She took a chance on me when I had a lot of learning and growth to do and lets me live my purpose every day. Find leader(s) who will believe in and trust you while also knowing you have more potential and challenge you to give it.

-Stacey Burke for her constant support. Her positive attitude is contagious, and she is always willing to pitch in and help others. A great lesson from Stacey is to always recognize your supporting cast. The crews behind the scenes don’t get the same recognition as the actors on stage but are no less valuable when it was time to make your favorite movies and shows.

-Candice M. and Rebecca Crowe for being incredible colleagues and friends. A great lesson from Candice and Becca is to find people who will pour into others without expecting something in return. Those people are vital to a teams success. They have both helped me be a better person because of their selflessness and willingness to help me when I don’t deserve it but need it the most.

-Tara Dorsey for being a tremendous mentor. She taught me to start every meeting with celebrations. “What is a win you are celebrating right now?”

-Brittany Collins for always seeing the best in me. I literally couldn’t do it without you, and you make every day better than the last!

There are so many others, but I am limited on space here, so let me just say thank you! Thank you to everyone who has poured into me but also a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who lets me pass those skills along! Without each and every one of you, the life I have built isn’t possible and I am so grateful for that life. May you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!

And if you haven’t told someone you appreciate them, this is a great day/week to do so!

Now get out there and crush your week!
