“Slow down and enjoy life. It’s not only the scenery you miss by going too fast - you also miss the sense of where you are going and why.”

-Eddie Cantor

Have you ever found that you are rushing to accomplish things? You feel like you are behind or that if you aren’t operating at full speed then you will miss out on the things you want?

With all of the technology we have now there is an immediacy to everything we do. If we want items, we order them online and have it the next day. If we want food, we can have it delivered because we don’t have time to go get it.

How often have you been in such a rush that you forgot why you were running so fast? Have you ever been rushing only to realize that it wasn’t necessary?

Life isn’t all about cramming as much into the time we have as possible. In fact, when we operate at full speed for too long, we forget to realize the beauty that is all around us. It is also hard to think and be creative when you are going full speed. True thought requires time and space to work things out.

Don’t get caught in the trap of feeling like speed is accomplishment. Getting things done efficiently can be great, but make sure that they are the right things. Otherwise, you are just running wide open but not moving the needle. Focus more on the things that matter, like relationships and taking time to help others. At the end of the day, that will help leave you more fulfilled than just moving fast.

Now get out there and crush your week!
