Josh's Weekly Insights - August 13, 2025

“The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much it is whether we provide enough for those who have little.”

-Franklin D. Roosevelt

How often do you give back to others purely for the sake of giving back? When was the last time you helped a non-profit or served your community?

Many times we put effort towards something because we have a desired result or outcome we are working toward. In work, that could be growing our career or making a connection with someone who can help us develop skills toward future success.

However, the most meaningful moments in life don’t come from the grind. They come from doing a good deed for someone or an organization that needs help, especially when we aren’t doing it for something in return. Serving at a local animal shelter, helping an area school, or supporting an organization that has a purpose you are passionate about can create immense fulfillment. It creates so much joy because you created something positive in the world for no other reason than to do good.

How could you help make the world around you a better place? No matter what your skill sets and passion projects are, you can find a way to serve your community well. Try it out and see how you feel. I bet you will realize that helping someone in need is much more fulfilling than “just doing your job.” Providing service and bringing value to those in need can create a hunger to help others that doesn’t stop and it may not be long before you are constantly looking for ways to improve the lives of those around you. And wouldn’t that be a great way to live?

To leave a positive wake everywhere you go would be a life to be proud of.

Now get out there and crush your week!
